Well, first of all I don’t claim to be the know-all, end-all best audio guru in the world. One can never know everything there is to know about a subject, but I firmly believe that I’ve accumulated enough knowledge over the years to be able to give solid advice. 

Where did this experience come from?  About 10 years ago (A decade already? Sheesh…) I got a hand-me-down head unit from a friend. Having gotten that for free I went to a local shop to have it installed, and I was blown away at the difference it made. After that I was seduced / obsessed with the subject.  I upgraded the rest of the system on my own, and after that I started helping friends with theirs.  I never really set up shop, but I did about two dozen installs for pay, and probably built over 100 enclosures for various subs/ speakers (also for pay). After college, I never had time to dedicate to other people, so I basically stuck to upgrading my own cars, and the occasional friend, but have kept up with the subject nevertheless.

What do we do here?

Simply put, we take mainstream car audio components such as amplifiers, subwoofers, speakers, etc. from all the popular brands, and test them. We follow a strict, controlled procedure to fully evaluate the products under the same conditions. This is important because our reports can be used to make comparisons based on real world performance, rather than just looking at the specifications printed on the box.

Telling you how good a certain product might be is not enough. We also offer a variety of technical articles, written in plain, easy to understand language on the most common topics that concern a user. Instead of writing how a field effect transistor works, we write about what size fuse you should buy for your equipment.

Why?

Because there is nobody else doing it. The consumer market is lacking a website that offers what we do. There is a huge number of choices for consumers of car audio, but very few places where they can get educated about the products that they're buying, so it becomes very hard for them to make an informed purchase.

The available sources for information are very biased. One one hand you have the "pro magazines" that rely on direct advertisements from the very same companies that are being reviewed. On the other hand you have the actual people that have owned the product. They either hate it 100%, or love it %110 percent.

Our site is completely supported by Google ads. We are not affiliated with any manufacturer or sponsor, so our expert reviews are completely unbiased. We purchase our own equipment from local vendors, If a product is good, we'll praise it. If it's not, we won't hold any punches.

Our Value Rating is the best tool available for helping people get the most for their money, since it shows if a product is really worth its asking price (And trust us, there is a lot of overpriced junk in the market).
